Frequently Asked Questions

Open Gaia and go to Settings. Tap "Restore Purchases." Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID used to purchase the subscription.
Subscriptions are managed directly through Apple.
Open the App Store app, tap your profile icon, go to Subscriptions, and select Gaia to manage or cancel your plan.
Gaia Pro is required to enable many AR overlays.
Also ensure that camera permissions are enabled:
Settings > Privacy > Camera > Gaia
If AR still does not function, verify your device supports ARKit and is running the latest version of iOS.
Make sure Location Services are enabled:
Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Gaia
You can also manually search for a location inside the app.
Weather data may vary depending on your current location and network connection. Ensure your device has internet access and that location services are enabled.
The free version includes 30 constellations.
Gaia Pro unlocks all 88 official constellations along with the full deep sky object catalog.

Gaia - Star Atlas ("Gaia", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Gaia, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information You Provide
If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, your email address, and the content of your message.

Automatically Collected Information
Gaia may access certain information to provide core functionality, including location data if permission is granted, device information such as device model and iOS version, and app usage data for performance and stability improvements.

We do not collect personally identifying information beyond what is necessary to operate the app.

LOCATION DATA

Gaia uses your location to display accurate sky positions, sunrise and sunset times, and local observing conditions.

Location data is processed on your device when possible, is not stored on our servers, and is not sold or shared with third parties.

You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.

SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENTS

Gaia Pro subscriptions are processed securely through Apple. We do not collect or store your payment information.

Subscription management, billing, and cancellations are handled by Apple through your Apple ID account.

ANALYTICS AND PERFORMANCE DATA

Gaia may collect anonymous usage data to improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance user experience.

This data does not identify you personally, is used solely for product improvement, and is never sold.

DATA SHARING

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share limited data with service providers strictly for app performance monitoring, crash reporting, and weather data services. These providers are required to maintain confidentiality and data protection.

DATA RETENTION

We retain support communications only as long as necessary to respond to your request and maintain service records.

You may request deletion of your support communication by contacting us.

CHILDRENS PRIVACY

Gaia is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.

YOUR RIGHTS

You may disable location permissions at any time, request access to or deletion of your support communications, and manage subscriptions through your Apple ID.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By downloading or using Gaia - Star Atlas, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

Gaia provides a real time sky map, astronomical simulation tools, educational content, observation planning features, and optional subscription based premium features under Gaia Pro.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Gaia Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription.

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings.

All billing and refunds are handled by Apple.

USE OF THE APP

You agree to use Gaia only for lawful purposes.

You may not reverse engineer the app, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with app functionality, or reproduce or redistribute content without permission.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content within Gaia, including design, code, graphics, and branding, is the property of its owner and protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy or distribute any portion of the app without written permission.

ACCURACY DISCLAIMER

Astronomical data is provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all data is free from error.

Gaia should not be used for navigation, aviation, or life critical decision making.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Gaia is provided as is without warranties of any kind.

We are not liable for data inaccuracies, service interruptions, device incompatibility, or indirect or consequential damages.

Use of the app is at your own risk.

MODIFICATIONS

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of revised terms.

TERMINATION

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app for violations of these Terms.
